CASE STUDY
A company that markets helicopter dollies to government agencies, law enforcement agencies, and
private-sector businesses, approached our powder coating division about having their components
powder coated. The company was informed that PBZ was also capable of fabricating and assembling
the helicopter dollies. The company consented and PBZ fully took over the complete manufacturing of
the helicopter dollies.
The helicopter dolly company originally had its fabrication, powder coating, and assembly done at
three separate locations. By contracting with PBZ, the company was able streamline its operation by
shifting the entire manufacturing process to one company. PBZ also was able to provide value-added
services such as warehousing and delivery directly to the company's customers. Through its
relationship with PBZ, the helicopter dolly company secured a reliable manufacturing partner and was
able focus more solely on marketing its products.

OTHER CONTRACTED PARTS

This chrome powder coated contraption is a tile floor display holder
used by flooring retailers. Consists of two assemblies back to back,
fastened by welded pipe.
Each assembly half is 1 long piece of pipe
that's laser cut and tack welded at various angles. Welding ball
bearings on the bottom legs hold the flooring samples in place. The four
flared pipe ends at the top, are slit to accommodate a slide-in
advertisement poster.
The complete assembly uses materials from PBZ stock, is fabricated by
the PBZ shop and powder coated with a durable chrome finish at our powder
coating facilities.
CASE STUDY A Fitness Systems Equipment
Company contacted PBZ due to specific laser cutting
needs and wanted a reputable manufacturing company to perform the
service. The keyway cutouts on the vertical columns of
their fitness equipment (shown below) required a unique laser cut that
was unable to be done a regular 2D laser cutting machine.
Not only did PBZ accomplish what the Fitness Equipment Company was looking for, they
were
pleasantly pleased with the pricing and service.
After several months of a successful working relationship,
they learned that PBZ could offer so much more than just the
laser tube cutting service. After several meetings, design
changes and proto-types, PBZ was awarded the complete manufacturing of
several of their fitness equipment units.
This includes securing the raw materials through the Steel Service
Center, performing the sawing, laser cutting, deburing, bending,
welding and the other manufacturing processes required. The
parts then go for pre-treatment and powder coating at PBZ's powder
coating facilities and finally are sub-assembled and prepared for
shipping directly to the Fitness Equipment Company's customers.

CropCare Equipment, another division of Paul B Zimmerman Inc., depends heavily on the experience
of PBZ when it comes to the production of their agricultural sprayers. PBZ manufactures all of the
equipment's steel components, taking them from raw materials to a powder-coated finished product.
PBZ is also heavily involved in new product development and existing product refinement. The R&D
team excels at taking a concept, refining it, producing a prototype, and subsequently creating a finished
product that is engineered for cost-effective fabrication and assembly.
